Our Mission
What World equips people with the tools, intelligence and strategies to help build their world back better.
And 2020 has shown us that we need to build back better as we recover from the global pandemic and act on the issues raised by Black Lives Matter. What World aims to contribute to this work through providing tools, training and events to inspire, debate and action change.
We had planned to launch in April 2020 but then events got ahead of us and with the coronavirus we had to rethink our approach. So we are launching virtually with our first workshop and first tool – the ACT|TRACK journal. The workshop will be on how to influence change using petitions, actions and other methods of making change. The ACT|TRACK journal is designed for people passionate about change and help log and track your change actions. Its available for purchase now and you can learn more about it at the dedicated site https://www.acttrack.co
We will launch the first workshop in September along with a series of online discussions with leading specialists in making change. Over the next year we will be will be rolling out the Assemblies, and then more fun What World tools like maps, t-shirts and more journals. Join us! Become an Assembler by simply subscribing to our newsletter.
Thanks from the What World Team

The Sherpa was established in 2009 to be a space for opinion, analysis and debate on global advocacy as part of the consultancy What World Strategies. It pivoted in 2020 to become the platform for convening the global advocacy sector.
The Sherpa explores the issues, opportunities and challenges to making progressive change happen. We undertake deep dives into advocacy tactics, strategies and understand the trends in global advocacy and convene discussions, panels and workshops to help inform, connect and support the sector to create strategies and actions to achieve change.
In addition to the seminars and panels, The Sherpa provides learning, training and collaborative strategy planning through online training programmes and strategy workshops. We aim to to equip organisations with the tools so they can be tactical, strategic and responsive to the quickly evolving world of global change.
We also work with organisations to help amplify their solutions, whether a policy report or a new campaign. We can help identify and engage the right audience to help increase the reach and impact of their work.
Please join us on this journey. To do so, subscribe to The Sherpa Brief to get up-dates on events and Sherpa programmes or drop us a line to hear how we can help your organisation engage your audiences
What World Assembly was founded by Kel Currah. Kel focuses on our role in the world and how we can influence change whether changing the world, your life, business or the community. He examines the best and most impactful ways of making the world better. This, combined with his passion for productivity tools (you should see his library of notebooks), will be the focus of What World Assembly.
Kel gained his experience of creating change from working for international organisations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and through his consultancy working with the World Health Organisation, the OECD, the World Food Programme and charities like Oxfam and World Vision. He has over 20 years experience in gathering people together to debate, strategise and plan. Kel is bringing his tools and strategies to What World Assembly to help make it the place to come to re-assemble our world for the better.
Kel is supported in this work by his dog Moose. Moose is a 5 year old chocolate lab who sleeps a lot but is a mean swimmer and great ball retriever. He reminds the team that sometimes its the simple things in life that matter most.
