What World Alive! is launching with an extraordinay evening of diving and discovery with reknown explorer, Jill Heinerth. Jill will share her recent expeditions beneathe the surface as well as her forthcoming exploration of the Ottawa River, home of Canada’s largest underwater cave system.

Jill Heinerth
Writer, explorer, diver and film maker
Jill Heineth is a distinguished Canadian explorer who has devoted more than three decades to underwater cave exploration, combining her diving expertise with skills in photography, filmmaking, and writing. Throughout her career, she has conducted underwater expeditions in cavern systems worldwide, produced television content, served as a consultant for film productions, authored multiple books, and established herself as a sought-after keynote speaker for corporate events.
Her exceptional contributions have earned her numerous prestigious recognitions. Heinerth holds the distinction of being the Royal Canadian Geographical Society’s inaugural Explorer in Residence. Among her accolades are Canada’s esteemed Polar Medal and induction as a Fellow into the International Scuba Divers Hall of Fame. Her lifetime of achievements in exploration has been further acknowledged with the Sir Christopher Ondaatje Medal from the RCGS and the William Beebe Award presented by the Explorers Club.

Kel Currah
Founder and CEO of What World will be your master of ceremonies for the evening.
Kel Currah, is an expert in global politics, advocacy and international relations. Kel has worked for international non-governmental organisations, an MP, a think tank and a foundation – the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation – where he built his expertise in the G7, G20, UN and World Bank.
He currently runs What World Strategies, a global policy consultancy that has worked with over 50 international organisations, foundations, companies and charities over the course of the past 16 years. Recently, he founded What World, an live platform for engaging Canadians on whats happening in the world.
Kel is a British Canadian, having lived and worked in the UK, US and Canada. He currently lives in Guelph Canada.
